It's important to report the crime

Have the following information ready when you make your report:

Your contact information

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address

Background information on the theft - tell your story

  • How did you find out about this "opportunity"? (social media, dating website, friend, etc.)
  • What methods of communication were used to communicate with the scammer?
  • When did the theft occur? Include dates and amounts of funds lost in USD and cryptocurrency values.
  • Where did the theft take place?
    • How were funds transferred? Provide cryptocurrency wallet details, crypto exchanges used, applications used.
    • Provide transaction information related to your theft - your cryptocurrency wallet address, coin/token amounts, transactions hashes if possible.

Never give anyone more money, even if they promise they can help.
